On Saturday, May 16, 2009 Plainfield Soccer Association sent the U17 Boy’s Legends to compete in the Illinois Fusion Shoot Out in Bloomington, IL for a two day tournament. At the close of Saturday, the boy’s were heading towards the semi-finals on Sunday morning out scoring their opponents 9-2.

At the crack of dawn on Sunday, the boy’s competed in a beautiful game, needing to win the match and secure their place in the finals, team captain Chris Tejeda found the back of the net in the 88th minute.  
Later that day the Legends took their place in the final match against the Midstate Soccer Club. Trying to take take their spot in Legends history, the boy’s lost graciously in a furious battle by the score of 1-5. It was a great two days of soccer in Bloomington and the U17 Boy’s team ended the tournament as the Championship runner-up!
