PSA Legends U13 Girls Premier crowned Team Champion at Glen Ellyn Lakers Fall Classic 2007
The Legends Premier U13 girls were just as hot as the weather the weekend of October 6th and 7th. The girls defeated Kickers White (Aurora) 2-0 early Saturday morning. In the afternoon, the TCSA Flames (St. Charles) fell by the score of 1-0. Sunday morning the girls faced off in the semi-finals against TCSA Blue Lightning (St. Charles) and emerged with a 4-0 victory. In the finals the girls found themselves matched up against the Darien Dynamo Dynamites Red. After three games and record heat, the two teams faced off in what would be a hard fought game in the midfield with a final score of a 1-0 victory. The Legends Premier team defense was spectacular throughout the weekend; the back four of Samantha Lomnicki, Lindsy Kendrick, Olivia Karkula and Lisa Schroeder held the four teams to only 10 shots on goal to help keeper Meagan Miller record four shutouts. Allison Kigthly, Virginia Fox and Gianna Hartwig contributed to both the offensive and defensive efforts with their play in the midfield. The championship resulted from an outstanding overall team effort where each and every girl contributed with key plays in all four games.
