The Seniors Program

The Seniors Program is the highest level in the PSA curriculum.  The program is designed to serve the most committed players in the PSA Legends program.  There will be four parts to the curriculum that serves the Seniors Program: technical, tactical, mental, and physical.  This is done to prepare them for life after high school whether playing or not playing.  Some of the problems you will encounter on the field, you may very well encounter off the field.  It is the job of the PSA staff to prepare our players for whatever lies ahead for each one of them.

The Seniors Program is result driven, meaning emphasizing the wins and losses.  For this reason, the “team” concept is more important than ever.  All players need to understand the responsibilities of not only their position, but every position on the field including the goalkeeper.  As a result, training will reflect this need.  Training will include shadow play, tactical functional training (involves the training of specific functions of a position or a group of positions), fitness, large group attacking and defending tactics, and clearly defining individual team tactics.  There will be a great deal of coaching within the 7v7 or 9v9 games.

The Seniors Program will also feature the C.A.P. (College Advisory Program) for all players.  The C.A.P. is a valuable commodity to have at your service. The Seniors Director along with the PSA Director of Coaching will be in charge of the program.  The program will feature a timeline starting when all players are freshmen until the day they graduate from their high school.  If players choose to play soccer after high school, this program is of great benefit.  All players will receive service in how to choose the best school for them, what level of play in college is best for them, application help, making sure they register for the NCAA Clearinghouse, help with letters to coaches, questions you should ask on visits, SAT/ ACT help, and what is the best way to market themselves as a player.
