Spring 2020 Recreation Program Registration



Season Dates and Times
:   The season will run from April 18, 2020 through June 13th, 2020. Games will start as early as 8:15 am and end no later than 4 pm.

Registration Dates: Registration will be available online from December 12, 2019 through February 9th. To guarantee that your child is placed on a team, please be sure to register during this time period.  

Wait List:  Registration for the wait list will open on February 10th and will remain open through April 17th for divisions with openings. Once we know that a division is full, the registration for that division will be closed.  We will fill in players from the wait list up until the day before games start as long as there is openings.  If a spot is open for your child prior to the coach meeting (March 24th), your child will be placed on a team and you will be contacted by the coach.  If a spot opens up after the coach meeting but prior to the start of the season, we will contact you first.     

Fees:  The cost of the Spring 2020 season is $120 per player.  Visa and MasterCard are accepted through a secured site when registering online.  Checks are also an accepted form of payment for online registration. Please make checks payable to PSA. Payment is required within 5 days of registering to be guarantee a place on a team.  The Maximum Family Fee is $300.  

Length of games and number of field players:
U5 Girls and Boys – 4  7 min halves playing 3v3 
U6 Girls and Boys – 4   8 min halves playing 5v5
U7/U8 Girls and Boys - 4  10 min quarters playing 5v5
U10 Girls and Boys - 4  12 min quarters playing 7v7
U12 Boys and Girls - 2 30 min halves playing 9v9
U14 Boys and Girls - 2 30 minute halves playing 11v11

Please note - PSA reserves the right to either combine divisions or change the format listed above based on registration numbers.

Practices: Practices day(s), time, location, and number of practices a week are determined by the volunteer parent coach.  We do our best to place players on teams that are either north or south of Renwick Road (determined by where the player lives). Please Note: that this is not always possible if we do not have enough volunteers on both sides of Plainfield.  We also cannot accept any requests to practice/not practice on certain days as the coaches determine their practice schedule after the teams have already been put together.  The best way to have your child placed on a team that fits in your schedule is to volunteer to coach or assist.  

Uniform:  PSA will provide a jersey that the player will keep at the end of the season.  Players are required to wear black shorts and shin guards.  Soccer cleats (no front toe cleat - ie baseball/softball or football cleats) or gym shoes are to be worn.  For player safety, unprotected eyeglasses may not be worn.  Players may either wear prescription sports goggles or sports goggles over glasses.  The wearing of jewelry (earrings, rings, necklaces, watches, bracelets, hair beads, etc…), hard casts and any items deemed harmful by the referees are strictly prohibited during games.   

Refund Policy: $20 is non-refundable at the time of registration through February 20th.   From February 21st through April 17th only half of the fees will be refunded.   REFUNDS WILL NOT BE ISSUED AFTER THE FIRST GAME OF THE SEASON.  

Age Requirements: Children must have turned 4 years old prior to September 1, 2019 but not older than 13 years of age on August 31, 2019.  Our league is divided into the following divisions based on the age of your child as of September 1, 2019.

Requests: If you would like to make a request for your child, please do so via email to [email protected]  We will do our best to try to honor requests made, but please note they are not a guarantee.  Please note that PSA cannot honor requests for specific practice days, times or location.  PSA does not have the practice information from the coaches at the time the teams are put together.  

Your child’s coach will contact your by phone or email before the start of the season.
